Overview:

The Boucherouite rugs are some of the most expressive rugs in Morocco. They play with texture, color, and abstract, impressionist designs. This rug certainly lives up to the standards. From far away, we spot the underlying checkerboard pattern in a rainbow of different colors. Up close, we notice that the rug is handknotted with cotton materials. In some parts, the hand knotted pile has been worn down with age, giving the rug a true vintage feel. This piece is thin but resilient. Because of their cotton fibers, they're slightly easier to clean than wool rugs, which make them great rugs for kitchens, bathrooms, or for kids' rooms. Since this is a thinner rug, we recommend getting a thicker rug pad with this piece.

Gorgeous Rugs!

During a recent trip to Morocco, I met Alia the founder of Kantara. She was so passionate about the women that weave these intricate and beautiful rugs. So after I returned home, I decided to explore the site and make a purchase. I had no need of a new rug but I was inspired to make a purchase. When the rug arrived I was so pleased! It was more beautiful than it looked on the website and every time I walk into my kitchen, I'm happy just looking at it. Maybe I will get another rug I don't need because there is something very special about these Moroccan rugs!

Gorgeous purple Moroccan Rug!

I absolutely love this purple rug that Alia designed and had her artisans in Morocco make. It is plush on one side so that you can use the two sides for different seasons if desired.
