So now that you have your Moroccan rug, the question is how do you take care of it for the long haul? There are two simple solutions that we recommend to make sure you keep your rugs in the best condition possible. First, get a high quality rug pad that allows the rug to breathe, and second, plan to get the rug professionally cleaned at least once a year.
There are as many different types of rug pads as there are rugs. Some rug pads are designed to provide you with more comfort. Others are solely meant to keep the rug from slipping. Others are environmentally friendly, made with non-petroleum based materials. In the sea of rug pads, it's often hard to know which rug pad is best for your Moroccan rug.
For our LA clients, we offer door-to-door delivery of premium eco-friendly rug pads, cut to the exact size of your rug. The cost for these pads is $4.00 a square foot plus tax.
These pads add cushioning underfoot, keep the rug from slipping, and do not leave any chemical residue on your hardwood floors.
If you're interested in purchasing a rug pad from Kantara, reach out to us with the size of the rug and we'll give you a quote.
Getting into the habit of a regular rug care routine is one of the best things you can do for your Moroccan rug. We've written about this in our Rug Journal and love sharing the tips and tricks for you to clean your rug at home. For our basic rug care tips, read the article here.Moroccan Rug Care guide

We work with Rug Ideas in Van Nuys because they have a tried and tested 10-step cleaning method and are also well versed in all rug repair, stain removal, and over-dye solutions.
