We commissioned this Beni Mrirt rug for our showroom, because we can't get enough of the colors and the design. It reminds us of the Petit Prince meeting a starry night. Faded orange lines cross the white and cobalt blue base of the rug, making abstract shapes, that are both geometric and three dimensional. With Beni Mrirt rugs, we often find the linework to be inset as braided elements amidst a higher pile rug. This gives the rug a more sculptural feel that we love. This rug would fit well in a larger living room or in a master bedroom.

The simplest, time-tested method is straight from Morocco: hang your rug in the sun for a few hours, then shake it out well before bringing it back inside. This regular airing out is the best way to keep your rug fresh and dust-free. Beyond that, care depends on the rug’s material and construction. For instance cotton boucherouites are the easiest to clean - just throw them in the washing machine on a gentle cycle and air dry. Longer pile rugs should be vacuumed with care.
