Overview:

What a vintage beauty! The faded red background on this rug is balanced out by two columns of diamond designs that span the length of the rug. At the bottom of the rug, the middle section is filled with a soft, undyed brown wool in certain areas, but left to the natural red in other places. At the very top of the rug, we see the brown section return, but just for a moment, before retreating to the background red. This imperfect call and response with the rug design is a reminder that the artisans who weave these rugs often weave imperfections into them on purpose, because only Allah is perfect.
