This oversized Akhanif Moroccan rug features a calming blue base with colorful designs embroidered on top of it. The base color shifts ever so slightly throughout the rug, almost appearing like waves of different shades of blue. All of this lends itself to an organic, yet modern feel for this rug. This piece was made by our artisan partners in the south fo Morocco and can be remade in any size or color. The simplest, time-tested method is straight from Morocco: hang your rug in the sun for a few hours, then shake it out well before bringing it back inside. This regular airing out is the best way to keep your rug fresh and dust-free. Beyond that, care depends on the rug’s material and construction. For instance cotton boucherouites are the easiest to clean - just throw them in the washing machine on a gentle cycle and air dry. Longer pile rugs should be vacuumed with care.
