Overview:

This colorful vintage Moroccan flatweave features a rare color palette in shades of dark purple, periwinkle, army green, mustard yellow, and maroon. This rug also features sewn on sequins known as "mouzoun," and are traditionally used in ceremonial weavings. They are also very easy to remove if you want the option of the piece without them! This rare flatwoven Moroccan rug would be ideal in an entryway or hanging on a wall.

While the process of weaving is the same throughout Morocco, the colors, textures, and patterns vary greatly from one region to the next.

The artisans we work with are skilled at creating hand-knotted, thicker pile rugs, as well as weaving geometric Moroccan kilims, boucherouite rag rugs, and double-sided handira wedding blankets. The results of this are colorful, eclectic, and bohemian rugs that are perfect for any home — from throw rugs to hallway runners to area living room rugs.
